Seafarers Awareness Week
22 June 2015
Genesis Personnel are proud to be supporting Seafarers Awareness Week 2015. The campaign is coordinated and promoted by Seafarers UK and it's charity partners to raise awareness of the UK's dependence - as an 'island nation' - on seafarers and the vital work they do.
The marine industry is one of the oldest industries in the world and today it plays a more important role than ever importing essential fuel for our power stations and vehicles, importing food, exporting goods, defending our shores, keeping international shipping lanes open and protecting the UK's interests overseas.
As a recruitment agency, we understand the fast paced nature of the sector and we strive to provide experienced and professional personnel to all of our clients whilst also having our candidates' best interests in mind. Quality is at the heart of what we do and we believe we deliver an unrivalled service. We have recently expanded our specialised training for the shipping/maritime industry to incorporate new training requirements, following amendments to the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). Our offices in Aberdeen and Peterhead make up two of only ten approved Marlins testing centres in the UK and our fully qualified staff can deliver Marlins English language testing as well as essential ship security training ahead of the upcoming deadline.
For more information on the courses we offer please see our Training Page.
